Do you want to know how architecture schools in Australia and New Zealand are responding to the climate crisis through research, teaching, and learning? The report released today for the Climate Literacy and Action in Architecture Education project gives plenty of cause for optimism. 

In June 2021, the University of Queensland School of Architecture and the Prince’s Trust Australia will partner to deliver the Enduring Design Masterclass, a winter intensive course that will provide Built Environment students with a practical understanding of the sustainable practice of traditional building knowledge.

The Great Australian Dream, underpinned by private home ownership, is a concept from the 19th and 20th centuries. Our housing stock was, and continues to be, designed and built for people who lived in previous centuries. The result is housing that discriminates and excludes, and that is becoming increasingly unaffordable. We need 21st-century housing that responds to the needs of 21st-century living.
