Dr Kristina Knox

Researcher biography
Kristina Knox is a Teaching Associate at The University of Queensland, with over ten years of professional experience in architectural practice and a strong focus on contemporary design education. She coordinates and develops curriculum for a number of courses in architecture and teaches across multiple disciplines in the School of Architecture, Design and Planning. Her teaching emphasises structural literacy, generative and computational design, and the development of clear, creative modes of architectural communication for emerging designers.
Kristina’s work spans architectural pedagogy, generative and parametric design, and interactive and responsive spatial environments. Her creative research includes projects such as in.bloom (UQ, 2019), an interactive robotic installation supported by a UQ Life Grant, and Urban Totems (Botanica Festival, 2022), funded by Brisbane City Council and the Museum of Brisbane. She is also the recipient of a UQ Strategic Library Grant supporting the development of a forthcoming textbook.
She has published widely and presented her work at numerous conferences, contributing to ongoing conversations around digital design methods and experimental practice. Kristina is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and is currently focused on advancing teaching innovation within architectural curriculum design and delivery.
