Academic Promotions: Celebrating Excellence in Teaching and Research

22 Dec 2025

As we close the year, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of colleagues who have reached significant milestones in their academic careers.

Antony Moulis, Deputy Head of School at UQ School of Architecture, Design and Planning, has been promoted to Professor. Antony's work bridges architectural research and urban challenges, guiding students and colleagues to explore innovative, community-centred approaches to design.

Stephanie Wyeth has been promoted to Associate Professor. Since joining UQ in 2019, Steph has connected academic research with the lived experiences of communities and inspired the next generation of urban planning professionals to challenge conventional approaches to city development.

Frederico Fialho Teixeira has been promoted to Associate Professor in Architecture. As Director of the UQ VisLab, Fred combines computational design, biodesign, and immersive environments, advancing creative and technical approaches in architectural research and teaching.

Silvia Micheli has been promoted to Associate Professor in Architecture. Silvia's work on resilient and productive cities integrates research, teaching, and design practice, encouraging students to apply sustainable and community-focused strategies in architecture and urban design.

We congratulate all our colleagues on their well-deserved promotions and look forward to their continued contributions to research, teaching, and the UQ community in the year ahead.
