Title: Maps, Models, and Urban-Environmental Intelligence: Enabling Data-Driven Digital Futures through GeoAI, Earth Observation, and Spatial Analytics

Summary: This talk explored how GeoAI and spatial analytics can bridge Earth observation with decision support to enable data-driven digital futures. Drawing on research in disaster resilience, climate adaptation, urban analytics and environmental monitoring, the talk highlighted how integrating geospatial data, artificial intelligence and spatial modelling can support smarter, more resilient and sustainable cities and environments.

Speaker bio: Dr Sajjad Muhammad is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management at CUHK and leads the SAJJAD Lab: Spatial Analytics for Just and Joint Adaptation to Disasters. His research advances spatial intelligence for urban and environmental systems through GeoAI, remote sensing, spatial data science and urban analytics, with applications in climate resilience, disaster risk reduction and sustainable urban development.
