The Enduring Design Masterclass, run in partnership with Prince's Trust Australia in the 2022 Winter break, saw Master of Architecture students swap computers for chisels, hand saws, charcoal and lawyer cane as they gained hands-on experience in the practices and perspectives of traditional design approaches that have endured in Australia's built environment history.

A collaboration between the School of Architecture and School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering has produced an installation in the recent Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside exhibition. Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Maryam Shafiei and PhD candidates Kristina Knox and Shaden Aldakheel have created and installed their project "Urban Totems" that communicated the ecological importance of timber and the diversity of novel design projects through active observation through an array of structures and a visual narrative of the design process.

Climate change presents not only an environmental challenge but a representational one that will push architects to rethink how climate events are incorporated into their practices. Drawing Climate examines what it means for architects and landscape architects to depict seasons and weather but increasingly extreme events like bushfires, floods, and heatwaves.

Focusing on bricklaying and stonemasonry, students in this Enduring Design Workshop learnt about the qualities of these materials, the heritage of these trades, and also enjoyed hands-on making sessions.

On Friday 26 November, the School of Architecture hosted the end of year exhibition Practice that celebrated the Bachelor of Architectural Design and Master of Architecture graduating cohorts.

The Round About or Inside exhibition explores how artists from multiple geographic and cultural contexts approach the spaces and sites that mark our lives. The exhibition opening will also mark the launch of Valuing Architecture: Heritage and the Economics of Culture.
