Architecture and Cultural Heritage: Values and Standards
Duration: January 2022–December 2024
Funding source: The University of Queensland
This project combines archival and interview-based research on the social, cultural, and historical values of architecture, and explores how qualitative data can inform built environment and heritage governance. It looks particularly at the management, representation and utility of data archives and digital models and the conceptual and technical challenges they pose. The project has several case studies including the concrete architecture of the University of Queensland St Lucia campus, the industrial past of the regional city of Maryborough in Queensland, and the archives and legacy of the architectural practice Donovan Hill. It contributes to the Digital Archive of Queensland Architecture (DAQA).
