Mr Abolghasem Azhdari

Researcher biography:
Abolghasem Azhdari is a PhD candidate in Urban Geography at the University of Queensland, specialising in the spatial impacts of remote work and urban change. His research uses GIS, spatial econometrics, and large-scale demographic data to examine digital deconcentration and the evolving relationship between population and employment across metropolitan areas. He has contributed to multiple research projects within UQ’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning, School of the Environment, and Business School, particularly in urban analytics and active travel. He brings strong technical skills in Python and ArcGIS Pro, and is developing a growing track record in teaching, research, and academic publication. Abolghasem’s broader interests span urban form, housing, sustainability, and the future of planning in an increasingly digital and decentralised world.
