Schools of Architecture are a fertile ground for lifelong learning between students and practitioners who bring ‘real-world’ projects back into the classroom. Currently, architecture education finds itself adjacent to an entire profession that is upskilling in response to climate change in parallel to widespread curriculum reform. The Climate Literacy and Action in Architecture Education project is a cross-institutional research collective promoting climate literacy through architecture education in universities and practice..

In 2021 we ran a survey of all Australian and New Zealand architecture schools on climate and sustainability research and teaching. This presentation will present those findings, which connect to the objectives of a forthcoming industry survey. Through this seminar, we will seek feedback on how this project can support existing research and teaching in the School of Architecture at UQ.
